Bentley ProjectWise Explorer Software Download

ProjectWise Is a software application that manages project drawings and other project data; and facilitates project collaboration between ODOT and consultant project team members. Consultants will be required to use this software when specified in the contract. In some cases, consultants may be required to upload or download project files via ProjectWise regardless of any contract requirement.

ProjectWise Explorer Client Connect Edition

ProjectWise Explorer is an ideal platform for managing drawing storage, security, workflow, editing, viewing, searching, comparing and upload/download. ProjectWise resolves many file management challenges. The ProjectWise Explorer application is provided free of charge for consultants working on ODOT projects. The Bentley Passport or Visa License required to run ProjectWise will be the Consultants responsibility to purchase. This Passport/Visa License must be managed on-site using Bentley Select Server or must be hosted and managed by Bentley with their Select Server product.

ProjectWise Edge

ProjectWise Edge is a new, revitalized interface to access ProjectWise content. You and your team, including project managers and project engineers, will find that ProjectWise Edge’s simplified user interface delivers new and improved capabilities for navigating, finding, and searching project content stored in ProjectWise.

Using ProjectWise Edge, you can interact with your common data environment stored in ProjectWise. ProjectWise Edge gives you secure access to the latest project files that you need to synchronize engineering work-in-progress and design coordination, allowing you to improve quality, reduce rework, and meet project deadlines.

ProjectWise Edge is available for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. For users who need on-the-go access, ProjectWise Edge Mobile is also available on iOS 9+.

Logging In and Out of Datasources

To access the documents in a data source, you need to log in to the data source using the username and password of the account ODOT administrator has established for you. If you need access to ODOT’s data source, go to the ProjectWise Access Request form to submit your application.

When a login is successful, your ProjectWise username appears to the right of the data source, and the data source’s icon changes to the Active icon. If you log in to multiple data sources, your username will appear next to them all, however, only the data source you are working in will display the Active icon (the rest will display the Open icon).

Note: Windows single sign-on and Bentley IMS authentication are enabled by ODOT’s administrator on the server.

Note: If you have a Windows-based account but single sign-on is not enabled, you can still manually enter your Windows username and password when you log in.

CAUTION:

Multiple users should never share the same physical working directory, as it can cause problems with checkouts and exports.

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 – required for Microsoft Office 2007 integration, and for ProjectWise Session File Manager in integrated AutoCAD 2004 and higher.
  • DirectX 9.0c – required to install the VPR viewer and the Spatial Extension of ProjectWise Explorer.
  • A supported DGN reference scanning engine – required if this installation of ProjectWise Explorer will be used to scan for DGN master documents, their references, and link sets.
