ODOT uses ProjectWise Link Set’s to provide easy access to files stored in the folders of other specialty groups. This allows the user to see the most up-to-date version of a file rather than the possibility of an outdated version of the file. A Link set can contain a grouping of files or a link to a single file. Examples of this would be a link to a file needed by someone in the Business department but this file is created by the Project Manager and is stored in that folder.

Creating a Link Set

  1. To create a link set, navigate to the folder  where the link set will be created.
  2. Select Document > Set > New.
  3. Enter a name and description and then select OK.
  4. The new link set appears.  Files can no be dragged and dropped into the link set from other folder locations.  These can be added individually or by selecting and dropping groups of files.
  5. When the link set is closed, it shows in the target folder.
  6. To open a link set, double-click on it.
