Figure 4J-1 illustrates the Two-Way Left-Turn Arrow and One-Way Left-Turn Arrow signal indications, meanings for which are described in Section 4J.02, Standard, items C and D.

The two-way left-turn arrow indication is shown as two opposing curving arrows, one pointing upward and to the left, and one pointing downward and to the right, contained within a square background with rounded corners. The bases of the shafts of the two arrows are directly in line with each other in the vertical axis, and the two arrows are centered within the square background.

The one-way left-turn arrow indication is shown as one curving arrow pointed upward and to the left. The one arrow is centered within a square background with rounded corners.

The figure also contains text applicable to both illustrations, stating "White arrows on opaque background, 750 x 750 mm (30 x 30 in)."
