This figure illustrates two Yield Ahead triangle symbols. They
are white, open outline isosceles triangles pointing toward approaching
traffic.
The first example is labeled "a. Posted or Statutory Speed
Limit 70 km/h (45 mph) or greater." The length of the triangle
is shown as a dimension of 6.1 m (20 ft), and the width is shown
as a dimension of 1.8 m (6 ft). The width of the line used for the
top of the triangle is shown as a dimension of 900 mm (3 ft), and
the width of the line for the sides is shown as a dimension of 200
mm (8 in).
The second example is labeled "b. Posted or Statutory Speed
Limit less than 70 km/h (45 mph)." The length of the triangle
is shown as a dimension of 4 m (13 ft), and the width is shown as
a dimension of 1.8 m (6 ft). The width of the line used for the
top of the triangle is shown as a dimension of 750 mm (30 in), and
the width of the line for the sides is shown as a dimension of 200
mm (8 in).
