Figure 3B-17. Example of Crosswalk Markings for Exclusive Pedestrian
Phase That Permits Diagonal Crossing
This figure shows an intersection with an example of crosswalk
markings for an exclusive pedestrian phase that permits diagonal
crossing.
A single solid white line is shown marked across the full width
of each side of each roadway at the outside of the intersection,
forming an outer "box." Inside the intersection, optional
markings are shown. They are shown as solid white lines parallel
to the white lines that cross the roadways, but they do not join
each other. Where they would come together to form right angles
at the corners of an inner "box," a space is shown, with
angled, inward-pointing parallel solid white lines shown pointing
toward the center of the intersection.
