Figure 2E-15. Examples of Interchange Advance Guide Signs
This figure shows five examples of interchange advance guide signs.
The figure shows five signs that are green squares or horizontal
rectangles with white letters, symbols, and borders, except where
otherwise noted.
- E1-1 is shown as a square sign. On the top line, a white U.S.
route shield is shown on which the number "56" is shown
in black. On the second line, the word "Metropolis"
is shown, and the word "Utopia" is shown on the third
line. On the fourth line, the words "2 MILES" are shown.
A smaller rectangular shaped plaque is shown above the top left
side of the sign and is shown with the words "EXIT 44."
- E1-1a is shown as a square sign. It is shown as identical to
the E1-1 sign except that the fourth line shows the words "EXITS
2 MILES" instead of "2 MILES" and no plaque is
shown above the sign.
A note below the two signs labeled E1-1 and E1-1a states "Delete
word EXIT(S) if exit number is used."
- E1-2 is shown as a square sign. On the top line, a white U.S.
route shield is shown on which the number "56" is shown
in black. The word "Newport" is shown on the middle
line, and the words "EXIT 1 MILE" are shown on the bottom
line.
- E1-2a is shown as a horizontal rectangular sign. The words "Lincoln
Ave" are shown on the top line, and the words "EXIT
1/2 MILE" are shown on the bottom line.
- E1-5 is labeled "EXIT NUMBER PLAQUE" and is shown
as a horizontal rectangular plaque with the words "EXITS
