The Oklahoma Department of Transportation in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is proposing to improve SH-8, from approximately 0.5 mile north of US-277/SH-19 in Cyril north to Section Line EW-137, located 3 miles south of Anadarko in Caddo County, Oklahoma. Existing SH-8 is narrow and contains two sharp horizontal curves which are do not provide safety at highway speeds and vertical curves which limit adequate sight distance. The Department has tasked a Consultant to look at alternatives for improving the highway while considering the construction costs, right-of-way costs and environmental constraints. The purpose of this meeting is to present these alternatives to the public and receive input to assist the Department in selecting a preferred alternative to move forward with the completion of the detailed environmental studies, design and construction.
