Public Involvement Meeting

SUBJECT:

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) proposes to correct the existing fracture critical truss bridge over Caston Creek on US-270, located 0.9 miles south of the US-271 junction in the Town of Wister, LeFlore County. In addition, the project will include reducing roadway flooding and improve roadway geometry associated with existing US-270 bridge over Caston Creek.

ODOT has scheduled a public meeting to present initial project information and receive public input. The public meeting will include a presentation about the proposed improvements to US-270 including why the improvements are needed, alternatives considered, type of improvements proposed and expected impacts to motorists and the surrounding community. The purpose for the meeting is to obtain information from the public to further assist in the identification of critical social, economic and environmental effects that may result from the project.
