  • The 2011 Oklahoma Bike Summit Is Coming - November 4th and 5th

    The Oklahoma Bicycling Coalition and the Oklahoma Bicycle Education Fund are hosting Oklahoma’s first bicycle summit on November 4th and 5th, 2011 at the Chesapeake Boathouse in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma Bike Summit is an opportunity for all stakeholders to visit, exchange ideas, discuss plans, share successes, and evaluate results. The summit is expected to draw not only bicyclists, but also urban planners, transportation engineers, health professionals, architects, politicians, state agencies, and business leaders who will come together to learn and share about and the benefits it offers to our citizens. Professional Attendees will earn 8 CM credits from the American Institute of Certified Planners.

  • 2011 International Walk to School Day on October 5

    The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) invites your community to join more than 40 countries worldwide on October 5, 2011 by participating in the 2011 International Walk to School Day. This annual event helps bring attention to the need for safe walking and biking facilities to and from schools in our communities. Register your event by September 15, 2011 and the first 100 events registered will receive FREE festive promotional items to help make your events fun and safe for participants.   • 2011 National Saris Cycling Group Poster Contest

    Saris Cycling Group sponsored a national bicycling poster contest for fifth-grade students during the National Bike to Work Week

  • Walksmart! K to 2 Grade Pedestrian Safety Program

    This curriculum contains essential concepts and skills related to pedestrian safety delivered through hands-on lessons. Each lesson features the following components: instructional time, objectives, materials, tips for preparation, activities, and integration ideas. Supporting materials include activity sheets, overheads/handouts, pre-post surveys, parent/guardian letters and a certificate of participation.
