Grant Areas

  • Tulsa I-244 Arkansas River Multi-Modal Bridge Replacement Project
This project would replace the failing I-244 Arkansas River Bridge Structures with new structures. One of the structures would carry facilities for passenger rail, commuter rail, and a dedicated bicycle/pedestrian facility. The new crossing would allow for future lane expansion as well as add wide shoulders compliant with modern engineering standards.
  • Claremore – Freight Railroad Grade Separation Project
This project would provide for grade separation of the BNSF Railway (BNSF) in the City of Claremore, located in Rogers County and in the eastern part of the Tulsa metropolitan area. The City of Claremore is located at the intersection of the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) and the BNSF (currently both railroads are at grade), and is also crisscrossed by 3 state highways. The proposed project would improve safety, enhance efficient movement of motor vehicles and freight trains, and shorten response times for emergency response vehicles.
  • Oklahoma City to Shawnee Freight Line Project
The Oklahoma City to Shawnee TIGER Application covers the repair and stabilization of two freight rail segments-one is the Union Pacific’s Oklahoma City to Shawnee line operated by A-OK Railroad (approximately 35 miles in length) and the second is the BNSF's industrial spur heading north out of Shawnee, Oklahoma (approximately 9 miles in length). The project starts in Oklahoma County and ends in Pottawatomie County. This project would eliminate numerous rail closures caused by both failing track and erosion issues caused by the encroachment of the North Canadian River.
